How to Install Smart IPTV on LG WebOS Smart TV

What You Need

  • LG Smart TV (2016 or newer, running webOS 3.5+)
  • The TV's MAC address (Settings → Network → Wi-Fi Connection → Advanced Wi-Fi Settings)
  • An active Smart OTT subscription — get one here
  • Your M3U playlist URL from the activation email

Installation Steps

Open the LG Content Store

Press the Home button on your LG remote. Navigate to the LG Content Store (or Apps section). This is where you download apps on webOS.

Search for Smart IPTV

Use the search function and type "Smart IPTV". Select the app from the results and tap Install. The app will download and appear on your home screen.

Launch and Note Your MAC Address

Open Smart IPTV. On first launch, the app displays your TV's MAC address. Write this down carefully — you'll use it to upload your playlist.

Upload Your M3U Playlist

On your phone or computer, go to siptv.app/mylist. Enter your MAC address and paste your M3U URL. Click "Send" to upload your playlist to the app.

Restart Smart IPTV

Close Smart IPTV completely on your LG TV and reopen it. Your channel list should now load automatically. This may take 1-2 minutes for large playlists.

Enjoy Your Channels

Browse channels using your LG Magic Remote or standard remote. Channels are organized by category. Use the OK button to select a channel and start watching.

Frequently Asked Questions

Smart IPTV may be unavailable in some regions. Try searching for alternatives like IBO Player or Net IPTV. You can also use a Duplex Play alternative or sideload via USB on developer-mode enabled TVs.

Smart IPTV on LG only supports M3U playlists. If you have xTream credentials, build your M3U URL: http://server:port/get.php?username=USER&password=PASS&type=m3u_plus. Or use our converter tool in reverse.

This typically means the channel stream format isn't supported by the built-in player. Try a different channel to confirm it's not a server issue. If many channels fail, check that your LG TV firmware is up to date in Settings → General → About This TV → Check for Updates.
